Conor Gallagher reveals 'hilarious' Thomas Tuchel comment about Kanté that pushed him to work harder.
The Chelsea and England star has revealed a funny comment former Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel had said on N'Golo Kanté that pushed him (Gallagher) to work hard.
Conor Gallagher has revealed Thomas Tuchel's comparison of him with Kanté made him laugh. Per the Evening Standard last season, the former Chelsea boss 'privately' believed Gallagher shared some similarities with N'Golo Kanté in his style of play.Gallagher wasn't only flattered by Tuchel's admission of him, but also found it completely hilarious.
“When he said it, it did make me laugh and surprise me a little bit." Gallagher said per Tribal Football.
“It's obviously a massive compliment, even if I'm half the player Kante is because I feel like he's the best midfielder in the world, probably still now when he's fit.
“We are obviously different players. He probably gets around a bit more than me, he's a bit sharper than me. So yeah, we're different players."
It's Tuchel's honest opinion of Gallagher that has helped him improve on his game, and has equally earned a call-up to England's national team. His Kanté-like attributes of winning the ball back is what he promises to bring to the England National team during the world cup:
“I feel like I can bring energy going forward and defensively as well," he added. “In whatever position the manager players me, I will do my best to play it right and be as effective as I can on the pitch. Whether that's to score goals or try to win the ball back then that's what I can do."
