Raheem Sterling names the Chelsea star he is 'scared' of facing in the world cup.
Raheem Sterling has already named the Chelsea star who 'did some stuffs' against him even while at Manchester City as one player he may not want to meet at the World Cup.
Raheem Sterling will be looking out for Mateo Kovacic during the World Cup. Earlier, the England star had named Mateo Kovacic as one player who was a nightmare for him even at Manchester City, and he looked forward to playing with him:'Kovacic to be fair (is who I was most looking forward to linking up with at the club),' he told BT Sport. 'When we used to play him for City I used to think "Oh my good gosh" - I'm not going to lie.
'Of course I always used to love to play with Mason (Mount) for England as well.
'Because he's just just a little busy one. He's just always getting on the ball. But yeah them two.
'Kova(cic) for sure because there was a couple of times (when I was at City) when he was doing some serious stuff against us.'
And now, with the World cup games already here, there is a possibility that Raheem Sterling could face Kovacic as an opponent, something he definitely didn't see coming. Whether in the semis, or later parts of the competition, it's likely that the England international will face his long-time nightmare, though teammates at the same club.
Meanwhile, England will kick off their first world cup game against Iran today and Sterling is one player, alongside Mason Mount who have been rumored to start today. Given his sloppy run of form for Chelsea, it will be interesting to watch his development during the World Cup.
