Real Madrid table official bid for £180,000-per-week Chelsea defender.

Real Madrid have made the £180,000-per-week star their primary target for next summer.

Real Madrid have made Chelsea defender, Cesar Azpilicueta their primary target ahead of the January transfer window.

Last summer, Cesar Azpilicueta was tipped to join Barcelona but made a last minute U-turn and extended his deal with the Blues for a further two years.

The Chelsea captain since then featured ten times as a starter, while coming on as a substitute for seven times. He however, may not be guaranteed a regular start following Reece James' return from injury.

According to Fichajes, Azpilicueta could be provided with the chance to sign for Real Madrid ahead of 2023-24.

While the report hints that is the most likely approach for Real, it is claimed that they may be prepared to part with €10m (£8.61m) in January to secure his services.

Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vasquez are viewed as Carlo Ancelotti's primary right-back actions and there may not be any need for a new addition to the area. However, the report suggests that Los Blancos could offload Nacho and Jesus Vallejo for the Azpilicueta move to come through. Although both players are centre-backs, they have not featured in Ancelotti's side since mid August .

Per SportsMole, it is claimed that Azpilicueta's versatility, experience, and low transfer fee could swing in favour of Real Madrid making an official bid.

Azpilicueta on his part, is highly regarded in the Spain National team, with the side not conceding a goal in his 135 minutes of action.
