Chelsea meet with agent this week as they try to battle Man City and three other Premier League rivals to sign £40M-rated Belgian star.
The Blues are not relenting in their pursuit for the Belgian Midfielder. Chelsea “met” with Romeo Lavia’s representatives “this week” ahead of a potential summer bid for the Southampton midfielder, according to RMC reporter Sacha Tavolieri.
Per reports, Chelsea are on the hunt for a readymade midfielder as they are not willing to sign Denis Zakaria on a permanent term.
Lavia is known to be a key target for Graham Potter’s side but there are a number of complicating factors that will make a deal difficult to pull off.
The teenager’s former club Manchester City have a buyback clause, which means they can re-sign him for £40m this summer.

Southampton are likely to hold out for a much higher fee from other teams, which means the current Premier League champions have a key advantag
There will also be other clubs involved in the battle to sign Lavia. Manchester United and Arsenal have also been credited with an interest recently, so the Saints will not be pressed into making a quick sale.
