The La Liga giants are keen on completing deals for two Chelsea stars this summer.
The La Liga giants want to sign a new right-back in the near future and James is at the top of their list of targets in that position, reports Spanish publication AS.
Joao Cancelo and Juan Foyth have also been touted as possible summer signings, but James is thought to be the right-back most wanted at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Although Real Madrid seem to have an upper hand in sealing transfers, they might however, fail to seal a deal for Reece James as the 23-year old recently extended his stay at the club till 2028. The Blues on the other hand are currently not looking to lose their key player.
The AS report also states that Havertz is well-liked at Real Madrid and has been since his days at Bayer Leverkusen when he was linked with a move to the Spanish capital before heading to west London.
It has hardly been an unqualified success for the Germany international at Stamford Bridge since arriving in 2020, scoring 32 goals in 128 appearances in all competitions so far for the Blues.
Havertz, also 23, may have admirers at Real Madrid, but a summer move does not seem that likely.
