CONFIRMED: FIVE players who could replace Mason Mount at Chelsea should he seal a move to Old Trafford.

Chelsea seem set to lose Mason Mount in the ongoing transfer window, with the midfielder yet to agree a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

According to reports last week, Mount has agreed personal terms to join Manchester United, with the player preferring to stay in England.

Mount is a big player for Chelsea, and despite coming off the back of an injury-ridden season, his attacking output will be difficult to replace. The Englishman has been a mainstay in the side over the last 4 seasons, playing an integral role in the team that won the Champions League in 2021.

The club are also set to lose both N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic from their midfield, and incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino has a significant rebuild on his hands.

Here, we take a look at five options that Chelsea could look to replace Mount, in a transfer window that looks set to see a lot of activity for The Blues.

1. James Maddison (Leicester City)

The most like-for-like replacement, Maddison is a player that fits the profile perfectly. Like Mount, he is someone that can both play deeper in a midfield three and also go forward to take up a more attacking role.

With Leicester City getting relegated to the Championship, the Englishman will be looking for a move away from the King Power Stadium. He is a proven Premier League talent, and scored 10 goals last season from midfield. In a campaign to forget for his team, Maddison continued to excel on an individual level.

Chelsea will definitely be monitoring the 26-year-old, and could look at him as the number 1 option to replace the outgoing Mount.

2. Jacob Ramsey (Aston Villa)

Another player proven at the Premier League level, Ramsey is on the back of two breakthrough seasons at Villa Park.

With goals and assists from midfield, the midfielder helped his team finish 7th in the season just gone by, qualifying for the Europa Conference League in the process. Ramsey was a regular in Unai Emery’s team, scoring 6 times in the league. He has a knack of arriving late into the box to get on the end of chances, something that Chelsea have really lacked in the past couple of years.

At just 22, the only way is up for Ramsey, and a move to a bigger club like Chelsea could be the catalyst to see him go to the next level.

3. Lucas Paqueta (West Ham United)

The Brazilian only made the move to the Premier League last season from Lyon, but has left a significant mark on West Ham. His silky style of play, ball retention and an ability to spot teammates has been well on show. Despite not flourishing in the Premier League this season, West Ham won the Europa Conference League, with Paqueta providing the assist for the winning goal in the final.

Chelsea will definitely be looking for more goals than the 4 Paqueta managed in the league this season, but his overall abilities make him a viable option to replace Mount.

4. Giovanni Reyna (Borussia Dortmund)

Despite having his fair share of injuries in the last few seasons, Reyna has had a huge impact whenever he has played. In the last campaign, he was second to only Erling Haaland in terms of minutes-per-goal, in Europe’s top 5 leagues. He scored 7 times in the Bundesliga despite getting limited minutes, and also assisted both goals on the final day against Mainz after coming on as a substitute.

At just 20, the American is still very raw, but has displayed the talent to be playing at the highest level. Chelsea missing out on European football next season could be a deal-breaker in trying to lure Reyna to Stamford Bridge, but that might just be temporary.

5. Daichi Kamada (Eintracht Frankfurt)

Another possible transfer target from Germany, Kamada has been one of the most consistent performers in the last few seasons. His goalscoring return of 9 in the league was his best ever in the Bundesliga, as Frankfurt finished the season in 7th place.

There are other clubs as well who could be in the market for the Japanese stalwart, but he is definitely an option for Chelsea when it comes to replacing Mount in that attacking midfield role.

Another name on the list is Chelsea's U20 Academy star Cesare Casadei who currently starrs as the top leading goalscorer in the FIFA U20 World Cup. The young midfielder with top goalscoring abilities could be the Blues' next Frank Lampard should they integrate him into the first team.

It remains to be seen, however, who the Blues will choose to fill Mason Mount's boots should he seal a move to Manchester United..
